Volt Research technical staff is affiliated with several R&D groups, universities and commercial organizations. We stay up to date on the latest innovations and developments.
Volt Research services include both consulting and product development. The Volt Research team is diverse in technical expertise and training and is able to execute and meet a wide variety of client objectives.
Volt Research, LLC. was established in 2009 to develop low cost, highly efficient and reliable ceramic based products for the Fuel Cell and Gas-to-Liquid Industry. Volt’s key technical staff has been working with this technology since the mid 1980s. They have been responsible for previous engineering breakthroughs in the field, including:
The world’s first multi-tube ceramic oxygen transport membrane reactor which produced high purity nitrogen (<ppb of O2) from commercial grade nitrogen containing 50 to 60 ppm of oxygen.
Production of low cost synthesis gas without using separate oxygen plant, a necessary step for cost effective conversion of natural gas into liquid fuels.
Development of new materials for partial oxidation which allowed for commercially low cost and high flux production hydrogen and oxygen.
Achieving high flux oxygen generation using thin film supported membranes.
Design and fabricate high power density solid oxide fuel cell – (4.1 KW/L, 1.1 KWh/Kg)
